A New Orleans-born pianist, composer, and music educator, Masha J. Davey is deeply passionate about inspiring students through the transformative power of music. She studied at Berklee College of Music, specializing in composition, music production, and audio engineering, and brings a wealth of experience from her work producing for film, TV, and multimedia projects.
With her roots in New Orleans’ rich musical heritage, Masha blends traditional influences with innovative teaching methods to help students cultivate both their creativity and technical skills. Her professional journey includes serving as a concert pianist and audio engineer for the United States Navy Band, collaborating with industry legends like Rob Lewis (producer for Christina Aguilera) and Wynton Marsalis (artistic director of Jazz at Lincoln Center), and performing at the iconic New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival. These experiences reflect her commitment to connecting communities through music.
Masha’s music, including her debut EP Into the Night (2022), is available on streaming platforms such as Spotify. As a performer in the DMV area, she is preparing to record a live album celebrating her hometown of New Orleans, scheduled for release in summer 2025.
With a forward-thinking approach to education, Masha’s teaching philosophy emphasizes music technology literacy, equipping students with diverse and marketable skills to thrive in today’s tech-driven music industry.
